Snow Removal

Priorized Routes

The R.M. undertakes the removal of snow utilizing the municipal equipment in the following priority:

  1. School bus routes
  2. Heavy traffic roads
  3. Farm access and residential roads
Plowing is then done in the most efficient order as determined by the Public Works Foreman. Snow clearing will only commence once snowfall has ceased, and may take multiple days to complete.

Driveway Clearing

RM ratepayers are responsible for the clearing of snow from their own driveways/approaches.

The RM offers driveway clearing for a fee of $75 per 15 minutes, and only when all public routes have been cleared. Driveways will be cleared in the order that is most effecient to our operator’s current schedule at the time of the request, and no priority will be given to any ratepayers.

A snow clearing consent form is required at the start of each winter season, and must be received by the RM office before any work will begin.

Improving Processes

On February 16th the RM took possession of a new 2023 Volvo L70H Loader, purchased last October from Redhead Equipment. Council felt this exciting acquisition would benefit ratepayers by helping to address snow removal in our subdivisions with a goal of eliminating snow berms. We ask for your patience as we work through the logistics of defining our snow removal processes, and look forward to continuing to serve our community with improved practices.
