The Big River Health Centre is a fully integrated facility which is part of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region.

The attached medical clinic is run by a full time Nurse Practitioner along with Locum doctors that service the clinic. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 9 am-12 noon and 1 pm-5 pm

The Health Centre has nine acute care beds, 1 palliative and 2 respite beds, and 28 longterm care beds. It also houses offices for community-based staff including home care, public health and visiting therapies. A dietician is also available.

The Health Centre provides the following services to Big River and area:

• X-ray
• Laboratory services
• Physician services
• Longterm care
• Home care
• Palliative care
• Community public health services
• Therapy services including physio and occupational therapies

The community of Big River also has a group of trained First Responders.
